TRIBE: Sappony Indians
Jessica Hayes has been interested in native art as long as she can remember. She learned her craft from her mom and great aunt. Jessica started out weaving dream catchers in her 20's for her friends and family. Over time, she has mastered the craft and started selling her work about 3 years ago.
Jessica enjoys going to Pow Wows and spending time with her tribal family. She said that the dancer's and other tribal art has inspired her to expand her love of making dreamcatchers into making other native items, like medicine bags, dance fans, walking sticks, jewelry and the list goes on.
“...always looking forward to the next Powwow to be inspired by my fellow natives.”
